A musical identity for Spain's national jazz ensemble
The Orquesta Nacional de Jazz de España has its roots in Spanish music, which has in turn been influenced by Moorish and American music, folk, classic jazz, big band, flamenco and everything in between.
We created an identity that really captures the vitality and eclecticism of the orchestra, combining various elements from different musical instruments in one illustration. While the bass drum holds the abbreviated name ONJAZZ, we allowed the horn section to blast out the orchestra’s full name. We also designed the cover for Onjazz’s first ever CD release, Jaleos, with its colourful cover featuring a painting by the director’s daughter.
The logo has changed slightly since our original design launched, but it retains all our core elements. You could say we hit all the right notes.
